Double Glazing Prices

Double glazing prices are higher than the prices of single pane windows, but it is sensible to install them even though such uPVC windows and doors cost more.

Various different researches have shown that our homes are responsible for almost 30 % of all Carbon Dioxide emissions; this is something double glazing helps decrease. So you always have to bear in mind that by installing uPVC double glazed windows you are not only helping your family budget, but also the environment. Double glazing will help your life now and in the future and there really is not much more you can ask for when buying windows, is there?

The most important feature about double glazing is that the unit must be airtight. Upvc windows and doors have to be installed properly, considering double glazed windows are impossible to repair. If something goes wrong a new double glazed window must be built-in. This is exactly why finding the best double glazed window company to install new glazing is of utmost importance. If you go wrong with the choice of the company you may end up in double costs soon because of refitting all the upvc windows and doors. Once you see condensation in between the two panes, that is it. The unit is no longer air tight and it needs to be replaced.

Double glazing prices vary quite a lot with different suppliers and manufacturers. Because of what I have stated in the above section, you must be careful with the choice. It is better to go with a bit more expensive but already established supplier than to choose the cheapest one and keep your fingers crossed for nothing to go wrong. An established supplier will be able to put warranty on your windows and you can be sure they will still be around in a few years when you might want to use that warrant. A new, small supplier with cheap products might not be there any more.

Negotiate lower double glazing prices

Do not however take the first price they offer. Gather some offers from other suppliers and simply let them know they are not the only double glazing supplier in town and they have to lower the price a bit. Negotiations are the key to getting a good price for a solid product. This is why there are no numbers in this article – it is up to you really. But keep in mind you will be saving quite a lot of money by installing double glazed windows simply because they are more energy efficient than the regular single pane windows.

I have decided to renew my windows and hopefully have found a company, however I’m unsure as to what to do, as the company supplies to trade only, they say that they have installers from different companies but I have to pay them approx: £60 per window to install, also they do not accept bank cards because of the cost of banking, and accept cheque or cash only.. they do however appear to be pretty busy with traders and give a 10 year guarantee although I realise that a guarantee is only as good as the company exists!!! the company has been trading for 10years!. advice please!!!!!
